Do you feel "behind" on AI? F* That. Read this.

Blond woman in green sweater and jeans lounges in a tub with a laptop, glass of wine, and post-its everywhere, looking fed up.

A few months ago I was scrolling on a Saturday and my stomach dropped.

"AI hacks for marketing" that used to be kinda niche suddenly appeared in every other post. My feed was giving this "if you're not using Claude right now to automate your entire life and run your whole business you are so f*cked" kind of vibe.

I run a global social media education firm that's trained 30,000+ brands with an efficient, sustainable, results-obsessed kind of approach.

So when, seemingly overnight, everyone in the entire world was running all of their marketing with AI agents and not having to work at all anymore, I panicked.

Where had I been? When did this happen?

I snapped into action:

I tried new prompts that experts promised would improve all my outputs…
I learned how to upgrade my Claude projects for skills files…
I set up the autonomous tasks influencers are equating to a chief of staff…
I paid thousands of dollars into an AI mentorship to build out my operating system so that I could get 20 hours / week back…
I even tried out "AI social media manager" software that promised to create strategy, plan-produce-publish my content, measure what's working, and self-improve…

I'll be sharing what I learned over the next couple of weeks, but let me start with a few key insights:

👉 It's actually kind of dangerous to download "skills" from internet strangers.
👉 Nothing is as fast as the Instagram post says it is.
👉 If you don't already have a strategy, a website, a tone of voice, and a ton of real inputs to train your projects, skills, or agents on — you will just be sprinting toward generic AI slop.
👉 Nothing is truly "autonomous." Every agent needs training and maintenance. And when it breaks, you're the only one to blame and the only one left to fix it.
👉 If "offloading" is what you're after, all-agents, no-humans isn't going to get you there.
👉 If you reduce your marketing hours from 40 to 10 / month, but you're still not getting results, you're still wasting 10 hours / month and whatever money you're spending on it.

I'm definitely not saying that there isn't immense strategic and tactical AI-driven value available for founder/CEOs in 2026.

I'm saying that the way it's being handed to us is not at all what's most efficient for the majority of resource-conscious growing brands.

And I'm saying 2026 is officially the year that the AI industry pulled out the exact same playbook the social media industry has been running since 2021:

AI brand ambassadors parading as experts and influencers, flooding the feed with "how-to" content sensationalizing ease and volume and revenue, waterboarding small business owners with a sense of frenzy and failure.

There’s an emerging AI Complex tax, and founder/CEOs are paying it.

Somewhere in between...

→ answering emails
→ chasing invoices
→ leading team members or clients
→ rewriting captions more than you'd like to admit
→ trying to find the right time to film anything for the algorithm

You're also seeing AI influencers with 40K followers and zero payroll tell you to "just install an agent this weekend" to handle it all.

Have you bought the workshop? Have you paid for the skill file? Do you feel like shit because you haven't done anything with it yet?

If you’ve dedicated a dozen hours to setting it up, then by now you know the thing they never said: That agent needs your training. A lot of it.

It needs your voice, your offers, your tone, your edge cases, fed to it over and over. It needs you to notice, fix, and retrain it every time it drifts, hallucinates, or breaks on a Tuesday night.

If you're feeling burnt out by time spent building things that never sound quite right, or content generation tools that pump out volume but never lead to sales…

Here's a hill I'm getting ready to die on:

  • You don't need more marketing to-dos on your list.

  • You don't need layers of algorithms, tinkering, and tech standing in between you, your customers, and why you started your business in the first place.

  • You shouldn't have to become a prompt engineer, debugger, and developer to thrive in the business you started.

  • It's not the best use of your time to train an AI marketing operating system when you're not a marketing expert to begin with…

  • And the skill from a random unvetted stranger on the internet with one year of experience on social media is not a more effective option.

At Strong Brand Social, we've been moving on AI at an intentional pace. One that allows us to understand the impact of our choices, build something that actually drives better outcomes for our clients, and remove the burden of prompt engineering, training, and AI skill building so you can stay focused on your secret sauce.

In a community survey recently, y’all told me the #1 most valuable thing would be a tool that helped you align your content to business goals and told you exactly what to do, what to say, and how to measure it.

For the past few months we've been working on a secret project.

A tool that allows you to tap AI efficiencies without having to become an AI expert.

One that installs The S3 System™, trained on three growth-driving goals and millions of marketing proof points, with greater ease and accuracy than ever.

And one that would be a more environmentally friendly option than teaching yourself how to become an AI prompt engineer this year…

PS If you're concerned about the environmental impacts of AI, so are we. Thousands of businesses separately building, testing, breaking, and rebuilding their own agents — that may or may not be built on actual result-driving strategic foundations — exponentially duplicates compute. One system, engineered carefully and shared, is the more resource-conscious path. If you want to hear how we're thinking through ethical design, get on the waitlist for more next week!
